Thomas & Marker Achieves
Coveted OSHA VPP Status

Thomas & Marker recently received word that the company safety program qualifies them for elite VPP status with OSHA. VPP stands for "Voluntary Protection Program" and the qualification process requires a company to submit their safety practices and procedures to a stringent audit by OSHA specialists. Very few companies' programs achieve this status and once attained, the company forms a partnership with OSHA that includes self-monitoring and regulating on-site safety.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Selects
Thomas & Marker To Manage And Construct
$15 Million Polar Frontier Exhibit

Construction is about to begin on Thomas & Marker's latest project for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Scheduled to complete in May of 2009, the Polar Frontier project will be home to polar bears, brown bears, arctic foxes and reindeer.

As work is gearing up for the Polar Frontier, it is at a crescendo level for the Zoombezi Bay Water/Theme Park. A Memorial Day opening drives this complex, landlocked project that Thomas & Marker is managing along with the work at the Polar Frontier.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Giraffe Holding Facility Nears Construction Phase

Thomas & Marker managed the pre-design and design phases and is now set to begin oversight on the construction phase on this $1.4 million expansion/renovation project for the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Zoo Construction Projects Make National Headlines

Thomas & Marker's work on the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium's Asia Quest project, and Project Manager, Emily Wierenga, were the cover story of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) magazine, Construction Executive.

Pickerington Tollgate Elementary School
Set To Begin Construction

Thomas & Marker was recently selected as general contractor for Pickerington's new 193,000 square foot Tollgate Elementary School. Other K-12 facilities currently under construction are: Marysville Intermediate/Middle School, Westwood PK-8 School in Dayton, Fairbanks Elementary School in Milford Center, Hamilton High School outside of Columbus, and North Union High School in Richwood.

United Church Homes' Blue Ocean
In Preconstruction Phase

Thomas & Marker has been selected to manage the preconstruction and construction phases of the "Blue Ocean" project for United Church Homes. This will occur in phases and eventually expand/rehabilitate each of the company's nine long-term health care campuses located throughout Ohio and Indiana. The preconstruction phase has begun on two of the facilities located in Ohio and overall planning and scheduling is in the works.

Thomas & Marker Selected To Manage
Upper Arlington And Barberton Fire Station Projects

Work is in the preconstruction/design phase on both of these projects with the Barberton facility scheduled to complete in September of 2008 and the Upper Arlington facility ready for use in April 2009.

Liberty United Methodist Church In Design Phase

Thomas & Marker was selected to lead the design and construction on this new church facility in Powell, Ohio. The new facility will house two merged United Methodist Churches located within close proximity to the new site.

Consolidated Electric Cooperative of Delaware
In Preconstruction Phase

This new facility for the electric cooperative of Delaware County is scheduled to complete in October of 2008 is currently in the preconstruction phase.

Marysville Projects

In addition to the Marysville Exempted Village Schools Intermediate/Middle School, Thomas & Marker is working on a renovation/expansion to Union Rural Electric and an addition to the Marysville Church of the Nazarene. Asian Cafe, Liberty Bank, UCo Industries, First Federal Community Bank and a new hangar for the Union county Airport are among those recently completed by the company.
